— Selected Work

Sparking
curiosity.

I’m fascinated by what helps ideas take root, how people learn, and what captures their attention.

The stories that stay with us are often the ones that leave room for reflection, participation, and discovery.

I'm interested in creating experiences that people can step into — mentally and physically. Through storytelling, I explore ways of sparking curiosity and connection, inviting people into conversation with an idea, an experience, and each other.

This is a selection of projects built around that ambition.

UNCovering Hope

UN City Copenhagen

Role

Concept Creator, Podcast Host, Researcher, Creative Director, Content Strategist

The Starting Point

Behind every institution are people going through uncertainty, learning, adapting, and making difficult decisions. My goal was to create conversations that help people see the UN's work through a more human lens and spark curiosity about the people, places, and efforts to save and improve lives.

From Exploration to Solution

I believe people connect with people before they connect with systems or agendas. Each episode begins with the human on the podcast: the questions, doubts, and moments that shaped them. From there, the conversation expands into the realities they navigate through their work. I’m interested in what challenged their assumptions, what they’ve learned, what keeps them going when progress feels slow, and how they make sense of the world around them. I work with a framework of questions, but the conversation evolves as guests reveal new perspectives, experiences, and ways of thinking. At its core, the podcast is an exploration of hope — where people find it, how it changes over time, and what keeps it alive in the face of complexity and uncertainty. It's meant to invite listeners to reflect, question, and discover new ways of understanding the world and our place within it. Every aspect of the concept — from the interview structure and editorial approach to the visual identity and audience journey — was designed to create conversations that feel honest, thoughtful, and deeply human.

Peace Talks

UN City Copenhagen

Role

Lead Designer — Sole Creator Across All Outputs

The Starting Point

Create a visual identity for a new public event series exploring peace and the future of international cooperation. Peace Talks offered a fascinating challenge: How do you visualise an ongoing conversation?

From Exploration to Solution

Peace Talks explores some of the most complex questions societies face. I became interested in how a visual identity could reflect the spirit of dialogue itself: multiple perspectives, curiosity, movement, and exchange. The resulting symbol is built from three flowing forms layered together. They might be seen as voices in conversation, a stylised dove, a horizon, or sails moving forward. The ambiguity is intentional, creating space for interpretation rather than prescribing a single meaning – to the logo, to peace itself. The identity reflects peace as an ongoing process of dialogue, learning, and cooperation. Designed as a flexible visual system, it can adapt and evolve alongside future conversations, speakers, and editions of the event series.

Pride

UN City Copenhagen

Role

Lead Designer, Communication Strategist, Researcher, Writer, Creative Director

The Starting Point

Create a Pride campaign and exhibition for UN City Copenhagen that would resonate across a diverse international community of UN personnel, diplomats, partners, and visitors. Behind every movement are people whose courage, resilience, and actions have shaped the world around them. This project offered an opportunity to celebrate those stories and explore how individual lives contribute to broader social change.

From Exploration to Solution

I was interested in creating an experience that felt both celebratory and reflective. Pride brings together a remarkable diversity of identities, experiences, stories, and communities. I developed a visual identity inspired by the richness of human experiences and the countless ways people express and understand themselves. Layers of colour, overlapping forms, and playful typography reflected the idea that people rarely fit into neat categories while creating a system that felt memorable, vibrant, and adaptable across formats. The exhibition explored how individual lives can shape broader conversations around belonging, dignity, and human rights. Through storytelling, research, visual design, and interactive elements, the exhibition connected personal stories to broader questions of belonging, dignity, and human rights. The identity was designed to remain recognisable across annual celebrations while allowing space for new stories, formats, and expressions to emerge over time. Four years later, it continues to be used across UN City Copenhagen’s Pride activities.

Deliverables

  • Visual Identity System
  • Exhibition Narrative, Research & Story Co-curation
  • Event Communication & Promotional Materials
  • Motion Graphics & Digital Content
  • Merchandise Design
  • Procurement

How Does the World Keep Moving?

UN City Copenhagen

Role

Concept Creator, Researcher, Writer, Creative Director, Designer

The Starting Point

Create a permanent 13-panel exhibition outside UN City Copenhagen. Every day, billions of people rely on systems, infrastructure, knowledge, and cooperation that help the world keep moving. We rarely stop to think about them. Continuity often fades into the background while disruption captures our attention.

From Exploration to Solution

I wanted to create an exhibition about the world we live in and the connections that sustain it. From climate and development to science, technology, human rights, and peace, the exhibition explores international cooperation as something practical that already shapes our daily lives. Through storytelling, systems thinking, and visual storytelling, the exhibition translates complex global challenges and achievements into experiences, examples, and stories that feel more tangible, relatable, and human. I developed the entire learning journey: the central concept, narrative architecture, visitor experience, research, writing, visual identity, image curation, interactive elements, and digital extension. The exhibition is an invitation to notice. To notice the systems, relationships, and shared efforts that quietly support life around us every day. My goal was to create an experience that leaves people feeling more connected to the world around them, more curious about how it works, and more aware of what people can achieve together.

— What Guides My Work

How I Think.

  • 01

    Understand people.

Before developing a direction, I spend time understanding the audience, the communication gap, existing assumptions, behaviours, motivations, and how people engage with information, ideas, and experiences.

  • 02

    Create ways in.

Whatever the medium, I look for ways to make ideas easier to engage with. Clarity creates the foundation; an interactive journey helps people step further into exploration and connection.

  • 03

    Explore together.

I enjoy working across disciplines, asking questions, testing assumptions, and learning from how different people experience the world. The goal is not simply to arrive at a solution, but to better understand the question itself and spend time in shared exploration.

— Testimonials

Kind words.

Veronika’s ability to balance multiple priorities without losing sight of the people around her makes her a highly dedicated, compassionate, and invaluable member of the team, as well as a thoughtful mentor.

NORA SELMA KROGSGAARD

Communications Intern, UN City Copenhagen | Colleague

Veronika is immensely dedicated, highly creative and one of those rare people who makes hard things look effortless. All wrapped up in an amazing personality.

Thomas Frode

ICT Associate, United Nations Development Programme | Colleague

Veronika's instinct for storytelling was obvious from day one. She never just made assets; she found the human angle, the thread that makes people stop and feel something, and built everything around it. That is the rare skill that turns a brand from seen into remembered. She is also a self-starter in the best sense. Hand her a rough idea and she comes back with three sharper ones. If you want someone who can think, write, design and make a story land, you've found her.

AITOR RUBIO

Talent Acquisition & Communication Analyst, United Nations Development Programme | Former manager

I had the pleasure of working closely with Veronika during several years at UN City, across several communication projects and public events. She has the rare ability to bring people and agencies together, forming bridges across what otherwise could have been siloed events or projects. She approaches every project with meticulous organization skills, eye for detail, and manages to keep everything (and everyone!) on track, with a proactive level that is rare to find. Whether external outreach engagements or internal ones, she executes every single task with utmost professionalism while never losing a sense of humour during high-pressure moments. Veronika is a pleasure to work with on a personal level. I’ve found her to be extremely reliable, generous with her knowledge, and someone who gets the job done without making a fuss about it. She truly elevates both the people and quality of work around her, and makes collaboration both enjoyable and rewarding. By bringing her on board, you can rest assured that every task will be thoughtfully designed from the bigger picture to smallest detail. It is my sincerest pleasure to recommend Veronika wholeheartedly.

PETRA HONGELL

Communications Manager, World Meteorological Organization | Former colleague

I’ve worked alongside Veronika several times, and her attention to detail set her apart every single time. Where others might call a piece finished, she keeps going, always catching small inconsistencies or ways to sharpen up content. Nothing leaves her hands until it is right. That precision never came at the expense of imagination. Veronika brings deep creativity to her work, an instinct for pacing and story that turns raw material into something captivating. She pairs that with a calm professionalism that makes her a genuine pleasure to work with, especially under tight deadlines. I’d recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone who cares about the craft as much as the outcome.

— Conversations leave traces

Photography

Photography offers another way of telling the story of an experience. My approach is guided by a framework I developed called 2×3 Dimensions, designed to capture both the atmosphere and the substance of an event. Together, the six perspectives help tell a more complete story: not only what happened, but how it felt to be there.

— From concept & coordination to connection & learning

Creating the conditions.

Some experiences feel effortless. Conversations flow naturally. Workshops prompt people to experiment and build. An event leaves people with new questions, new connections, and a desire to keep exploring long after the experience has ended. I’m fascinated by how those experiences are created.

  • 01

    Strategy & Experience Design

Every project begins with understanding the purpose, the people it is for, and what they need in order to participate, contribute, learn, connect, and feel confident in the experience. I enjoy exploring those questions from multiple angles: audience needs, motivations, behaviours, expectations, information flows, learning journeys, and the wider systems surrounding an experience. The big picture provides direction. From there, every decision can be evaluated against the experience we are trying to create. As concepts become reality, my attention shifts towards the details. Communications, logistics, timing, stakeholder coordination, facilitation, workflows, physical spaces, digital touch-points, and contingency planning all become part of the same experience. The details matter because they shape how people feel, interact, and move through an experience from beginning to end.

  • 02

    Partnerships & Coordination

Much of my work involves bringing together people with various priorities, viewpoints, and expectations. I enjoy creating clarity around a shared purpose, helping people understand their role in the larger picture, and building structures that allow collaboration to feel smooth and productive. This has shaped my approach to conferences, dialogue events, workshops, inter-agency initiatives, and partnerships. The scale and format may change, but the underlying ambition remains consistent: creating experiences that feel coherent, thoughtful, and engaging enough for people to focus on what brought them there in the first place. The most rewarding experiences are often the ones that feel effortless. Behind that effortlessness sits a deep understanding of people, careful preparation, and hundreds of small decisions working together in service of a larger idea.

  • 03

    Workshops: Facilitating discovery

I’m interested in how people arrive at understanding. My approach to workshops is shaped by a simple belief: people are more likely to remember, apply, and build on an insight when they arrive at it themselves. The workshops I design are often less focused on providing answers and more focused on creating opportunities for exploration. I enjoy building enough structure for people to engage with a topic while leaving room for curiosity, experimentation, discussion, and unexpected connections. Thoughtful questions often reveal more than explanations can. They reveal assumptions, surface different perspectives, and encourage people to think through an idea from angles they may not have considered before. What keeps me interested is that no two groups learn in exactly the same way. The same workshop can produce different conversations, different insights, and different directions depending on the people in the room. Designing for that uncertainty is part of what makes the process so fascinating.
